Innovative Online School Launches to Empower Neurodiverse Learners

A groundbreaking new online school designed specifically to support neurodiverse children is launching in the UK, offering a bespoke immersive learning environment for children who learn differently. The school programme is available to children in both the UK and abroad.

Ohana is a fully online school for children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and other neurodiverse profiles. With small class sizes, specialist-trained teachers, and a curriculum that prioritises individual strengths and wellbeing, the school aims to transform educational outcomes for children often underserved by traditional school environments.

“Too many neurodiverse children are left behind or misunderstood in mainstream education,” said Charu Kashyap, founder of the “O” Group which encompasses Ohana and Odyssey Schools. “Ohana is the Hawaiian name for family. It means that no-one is behind or forgotten and it is our mission is to ensure that every child can learn in the way that works best for them.

Ohana offers:

  • Use of cutting-edge technology to deliver bespoke learning programmes adapted to each child’s learning profile.
  • Specialist Teachers: trained in neurodiversity, SEN, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Safe Social Spaces: Online environments where children can connect, collaborate, and build confidence at their own pace.
  • Therapeutic Integration: support from counsellors, speech therapists, and occupational therapists.

The school operates in accordance with UK educational standards and is available to children aged 11 – 18 nationwide. Enrolment for the 2025–26 academic year is now open, with introductory webinars available for interested families starting in June 2025.

Parents, educators, and policymakers have welcomed the school’s launch as a timely and necessary evolution in how education is delivered to those with different cognitive needs.

“This initiative is exactly what so many families have been waiting for,” said Sandra Rey, Head of Ohana “It recognises that equity in education means meeting children where they are — and giving them the tools to thrive.”
